I'm calling on anyone and everyone to post your thoughts about this one and what you think it looks like. I will take this one to the lab in the morning and if any guests would like slides I will send them to you. These will be properly gram stained and should be a nice novelty item for you to use in identifying your own organisms if any should prove to be present. Here's hoping none are found.

I can't be sure, but it looks like Stranglebrand to me.
Or Phytopthera
Or Phomopsis
Or Pythium
Or Phoma
Or ???
But it does NOT appear to be normal or healthy.
So Sorry.

Have you tried any treatments? like dipping it in peroxide or a mild tea tree solution dabbed on the strange areas?

at what resoluition can you start to identify the types of problems... should we after seeing our ID slides...descide to try and identify our problems ourselves...they have some knock out little digital miscroscopes now... .. one was featured on CSI..the TV show..Crime Scene Investigations... it was the basis for their moble crime lab.. ...and you can load immages right from it.... into the computer...
but if I was getting one. I 'd like to make sure it was strong enough for pathogen ID's.... along with pest ID's..

Hello Eric,
This post goes back to 6/04/08 I wonder if Double L'Anour survived her disease and what did you do to clear her of this mess, and better yet, what exactly was her malady? Yes, post me a copy of your slide if you have some time in your schedule. Thanks a zillion
